Homelessness does not discriminate; it can,
and does, hit anyone at any time without regard to race, age, sex, color,
family status or national origin. As a result, Thurman Brisben Center
provides services to all individuals and families in Planning District 16 who
are, or are at eminent risk of becoming, homeless. For the safety of all,
there is an admission criteria protocol dealing with violent behavior and past
history with the Shelter. Additionally, all residents must remain clean
and sober during their residency.
